Constitutional Sovereignty and Self-Governance
The Black American International Union (BAIU) is established as a voluntary private membership organization founded upon the constitutional principles of liberty, equal protection, due process, freedom of association, and peaceful civic participation.
BAIU possesses the inherent authority to govern its internal affairs through its Constitution, Bylaws, Codes of Conduct, Policies, Membership Standards, Elections, and Organizational Procedures, consistent with the Constitution and laws of the United States.
The Union affirms that its authority over its internal governance arises from the constitutional rights of its members to freely associate, organize, assemble, speak, publish, petition government, and pursue lawful collective objectives.
Nothing within this Constitution shall be interpreted as a declaration of political independence from the United States or as a claim of governmental authority beyond that permitted under applicable law. Rather, BAIU exercises its right to organizational self-governance as a private constitutional association dedicated to advancing the educational, cultural, economic, scientific, historical, civic, and humanitarian interests of its members.
The Union shall maintain the authority to:
- Establish its own governing Constitution and Bylaws.
- Define membership qualifications and verification standards.
- Elect and remove officers in accordance with established procedures.
- Create national, state, local, campus, and international affiliate chapters.
- Adopt internal regulations governing organizational operations.
- Develop educational, charitable, cultural, scientific, and economic initiatives.
- Own, acquire, lease, develop, and manage lawful real and personal property.
- Enter into lawful contracts, partnerships, and cooperative agreements.
- Advocate for legislation, public policy, civil rights, historical recognition, and constitutional protections through lawful and peaceful means.
- Represent the interests of its membership before governmental, judicial, academic, and international institutions as permitted by law.
BAIU further affirms that all organizational actions shall be conducted through peaceful, constitutional, democratic, and lawful means, with respect for the rights and liberties guaranteed to every person under the Constitution of the United States.
